The Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT)

Really Terrible Listeners

Several of our fans have identified themselves as really terrible listeners and have requested a special seating section. Dook fans automatically get seats in this section (just kidding, Poor Dook fans! although, they are the best seats in the house ....).

This page is dedicated to these Really Terrible Listeners, devoted fans of the Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT).

We have three charter members, based upon comments made on our guestbook (q.v.)

CHARTER MEMBERS OF THE REALLY TERRIBLE LISTENERS SECTION

* Robert Ferrier -- “My musical talents don't even rise to the level of really terrible. Save me a seat in the terrible listeners' section, but only if the performance is as amusing as the website. Bonne chance”
* Joy Boyette -- “I look forward to attending the first RTOOT performance as my musical talents are limited to "listening." Best of luck...
* Jonathan Hiam -- “This is great because I am a really terrible listener! Best of luck.”

ADDITIONAL MEMBERS OF THE REALLY TERRIBLE LISTENERS SECTION

  • Duke Rumley - listens to CDs
  • Lyn Francisco - has laryngitis
  • Marlene Bray - may come from all the way from Mayodan, NC
  • James, who'd rather hear bad music played by good people than good music played by bad people. what an enigma!!! Elgar would approve ...
  • Ahmed Abrass, who may be coming from Kuwait to hear the Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle!! his ears will be so tired out from jetlag, we will be obliged to put him in the RTL section!
  • Jim, from Florida, describes himself as "not qualified for even a RTO (tone deaf, demoted to third assistant triangle in kindergarten as I recall)." Certainly deserving of a seat up front in the Really Terrible Listeners' Section!
  • Becky Stancill, whose idea of great music is a mozart ringtone on the celfone ...
  • Matt Ehlers - he is the reporter assigned to the beat that includes things like the Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT). He must be a Really Terrible Listener.
  • Justin, Saphyre (age 5), and Shaylan (age 3), of the marvell art center in Durham, by special request.
  • Pierce Freelon, lead singer of Beast, who is so incredibly energetic in his concert setting, it’s impossible to believe he could sit still long enuf to listen to a Mozart piano concerto.
  • Elisabeth Allore, who claimed that she was actually looking forward to this event. Must be a Terrible Listener!
  • Rennie Bidgood, who is Jonesing for the thrill of The Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT).
  • Beth Gatts, who is involved with http://www.pchsfineartsboosters.org/ because we wanted to give them a plug!
  • John Owens, and his daughter Annabelle, age 5 wks and 3 days, who really perked up while listening to a bootleg copy of our music.
  • Janet Henke, who is a member of the Holly Springs Band and therefore a competent musician, but she insists on being a fan of The Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT); therefore. must be a Really Terrible Listener.
  • Gen Palmer at genpalmermusic.weebly.com who says in our guestbook (q.v.), “Wow, you guys are really great! I'm definitely a fan. I'm thirteen, and I go to Ligon Middle School in Raleigh. I've been looking you guys up, and I'm doing a report on you in orchestra sometime in January! ... Ha ha GO ANDREW!!!” I Is this a reference to our cellist Andrew, the son of the Distinguished Zachary Taylor Smith Term Professor of Music at UNC Chapel Hill Brent Wissick? or a poke at a middle school classmate? at any rate, we highly recommend visiting Gen’s website and being almost as amused as by our own RTOOT website (In Our Humble Opinion). Gen certainly earns a spot in the RTL section by claiming to be definitely a fan.
  • Elizabeth Thompson, Publicist with the Dook University Department of Music, gets a seat up-front for helping us out immensely with publicity for our Terrible excuse for a concert. And also, presumably, because she’s a dook fan, since she works there. Although the Research Division of The Really Terrible Orchestra Of the Triangle (RTOOT) has discovered that there are many non-dook fans that are employed by the institution somewhere or another. However, ALL dook fans are invited to sit in the roped-off section, and to be identified herein, with their preferred website, if so desired. So .... Y‘all check out her website -- www.duke.edu/music
  • Karey Ann Liptok is honoured as a Really Terrible Listener because she came to one of our recent Sunday afternoon practices and stayed throughout the entire ordeal. Hats off to Karey!
  • Bob Upchurch gains a spot in the RTL section by appearing at all of the RTOOT concerts, we believe. Bob’s ears are probably ruined by such exposure.
  • Sita Pisachi has also attended almost all of the concerts and is hereby honored with an RTL seat. Actually, we learned that Pisachi is not her real name atall, but is a joke and play on words meaning devil-woman.
  • Jeff Fox also has been keen on attending RTOOT concerts and is invited to join the Really Terrible Listeners as one of our unofficial photographers. Several of our Youtube sequences were produced by Jeff, for which we and the general public are enternally grateful.
